RULE #3 Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
RULE #4 Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

Mil-Spec Accessories Torque Specifications

Never tighten optics mounting screws by hand estimation. Always use a calibrated torque driver and apply the recommended torque values below, measured in inch-pounds (in-lbs):

Accessory / Mount Type Recommended Torque Threadlocker Recommendation
Scope Ring Screws (Optics Body) 15 - 18 in-lbs None (or very light dry lube)
Scope Mount Base (to Picatinny Rail) 45 - 65 in-lbs Loctite 242 (Blue - Medium)
M-LOK Handguard Accessories (Steel) 35 in-lbs Loctite 242 (Blue)

Field Notes: Rifle Zeroing & Accessories Mounting

Proper optic installation and zeroing procedures are critical for consistent downrange accuracy. Follow this step-by-step guideline:

Zeroing with Grid Targets

Using our 10mm grid target simplifies the zeroing process. At exactly 100 meters, 1 click on a 1/10 MIL (0.1 MRAD) optic moves the impact point by exactly 1 cm (one square on our grid). If your shot group is 3 squares low and 2 squares right, dial 3 clicks up and 2 clicks left to center your impact point perfectly.

Optic Base Mounting Torque Rules

Always degrease scope mount screws and receiver holes using isopropyl alcohol before installation. Applying threadlocker acts as a lubricant, reducing friction and increasing the actual tension applied. When utilizing threadlockers (like blue Loctite 242), torque to the lower end of the manufacturer's range to prevent stripped threads or crushed tubes.
